Our initiative YuvaVidya aims to empower the underserved with age-appropriate teaching and tech-led quality education through recharging primary school learning.
The seventeenth Governor of RBI and Padma Bhushan awardee, Mr R N Malhotra, built an illustrious career holding several senior positions in civil service. His inherent nature to help others is a quality remembered by people to this date. He was known for his exemplary acumen, integrity, charming personality and empathetic nature.
He served as Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary and Secretary, Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance to the Government of India and Executive Director to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. After retirement, he chaired the R N Malhotra Insurance Committee, which ushered in major insurance reforms.

Anna Rajam Malhotra, former Education Secretary, defied all odds to become India's first woman IAS officer. She played a crucial role in ensuring women sarpanches ran the show, instead of doing the bidding of the male members of the family. She denied permission to stop the Midday Meal Scheme and fortunately, this scheme continues today in government schools in most states. Her remarkable journey inspired several women to join the civil services.
During her lifetime, she quietly did her bit along with her husband through charity for various causes. She donated substantial money for building a whole wing to shelter orphaned children in the Missionaries of Charity, East Delhi, founded by Mother Teresa. A born Christian, she maintained that her religion was to be a good human being like her husband.
Following their footsteps, YuvaVidya, an initiative by the R N Malhotra & Anna R Malhotra Charitable Trust aims to carry their legacy forward and improve the quality of education for underserved communities.
